Data is hot, especially in this day and age. Many companies recognize the value of data, but do not have a clear understanding of what they can do with it. Macaw helps customers with everything around data by inspiring and guiding them towards a future proof and valuable data platform that can support all traditional and innovative data-driven workloads, so that the customer has valuable information. We do this at Basic Fit, Heineken, PWN, Vivat, Henkel and ABN AMRO and many others.

More than 500 colleagues work at Macaw internationally, of which about 60 are primarily involved with data. This covers all of data: from traditional Business Intelligence solutions and Smart Data Platforms (SDP) to the more advanced Analytics solutions with Ai and Data Science. Within the Data & Analytics team there are 2 MVPs, Dave Ruijter and Marc Lelijveld.

As an Azure Data Architect you take a pioneering role towards our customers. Not only do you have clear customer expectations, but you also have a good idea of the risks. You are involved with the customer from the pre sales phase. Thanks to your extensive technical knowledge and the experience you have gained with the Azure Data Platform, Data Lake and Databricks, you are able to advise your customer and inspire them from your own enthusiasm and charisma. You create a roadmap with which the team (with Data Engineers, for example) can start building the solution under your guidance.
In addition to your role towards the customer, as a Lead you are responsible for the team. You help the team in the start-up phase of the project, but also during the project you remain involved up to and including the go live. You supervise the team during the project. You also help them in their personal development.
Within your group of Data Consultants you will find like-minded people who spar with each other about the field and challenge each other. Together you are leading the charge in terms of technology within Macaw. By working closely with the Microsoft Product teams, you can actually contribute to the further development of new technology such as Azure Synapse Analytics. You have a vision of how we can use this in a valuable way for our customers.

What we are looking for
- Higher education or academic background
- You already work and live in the Netherlands
- At least 5 years of working experience in the data engineering field
- At least 3 years of working experience on Azure Data Platform, SQL Datawarehouse, Data Lake and Databricks
- Solid knowledge of Azure Cloud
- Interest in new technologies like Azure Synapse Analytics
- Fluent in Dutch and / or English is mandatory
- Power BI knowledge is preferred
