What you do as a Cloud (system) Engineer
Macaw’s Cloud (System) Engineers form a close group of professionals who work together to create the best Cloud foundations in a no-nonsense setting. We work for (international) customers and support them in improving the stability, availability and security of their Azure infrastructure.
As a Cloud System Engineer you are involved in setting up, documenting, monitoring, managing and supporting the Microsoft Azure-based IaaS and PaaS environments. You also provide 2nd line support for the Microsoft 365 services. Together with your team, consisting of 10 Engineers, you answer functional and technical issues and resolve any incidents.
You can grow to be the GO-TO person for one of our customers and develop yourself as the right-hand man of the Service Delivery Manager. You will become the first point of contact for your customer. Of course you can develop yourself technically within Macaw, grow to 3rd line support and specialize in the field of Azure Architecture, Azure Networking, Cloud Security or Azure DevOps. This way you can optimally continue your career as an Azure Architect or Technical Consultant.
What we’re looking for
Of course you can grow your career at Macaw, but to get started at current projects, you bring the following experience and knowledge:
- At least a completed MBO-4 education, in the direction of ICT
- At least two years of relevant work experience as a System Engineer, Cloud Engineer or Application Manager in a cloud or on premises environment
- Experience with ITIL (Macaw works with Topdesk) Knowledge of Office 365 and the Windows workplace, Windows server and Active Directory is essential here
- It would be nice if you already have some knowledge of PowerShell or ARM templates but not a requirement
- It is also an advantage if you have experience with monitoring tools such as SCOM and PRTG
- You are in possession of the Microsoft Fundamentals certifications (AZ-900, MS-900 or AZ-104) or willing to obtain these after starting in the team
